About Dr. Stone

My full name is Shirl Ammon Stone, but almost everyone calls me "Rocky" because of the last name...Stone - Rock. Please feel free to call me Dr. Rocky or Dr. Stone, which ever you prefer. I was born in Spanish Fork, Utah. I wandered around barefoot for about 4 years in Hawaii during my early teenage years (that contributed to my freckles and the width of my feet!), I have a wife, Suzanne, three children, Shaylin, Nathan, and BreAnne, and a son-in-law, Brad. I enjoy ham radio, golfing, swimming (water sports in general), snow skiing (snow sports in general), spending time with my family, and watching movies.

I have had the opportunity to serve our community for 18 years as a volunteer member of Pleasant Grove Ambulance Services. It was during this time of service that I would notice patients leaving the hospital emergency room after an accident, still suffering with pain and headaches. I sought the advise of my cousins, who are chiropractors in Salt Lake City, and they shared some of their success stories with me. I realized then, what a difference I could make in the lives of these patients if I were a chiropractor. So, when my brother suggested we pack up our families and move away to chiropractic college together, I went for it! We all moved to Davenport, Iowa after completing the necessary pre-med/bachelor's degree requirements. It was the most incredible experience of our lives. I graduated from Palmer Chiropractic University in July of 1994. I received merit awards for clinical excellence. I completed graduate x-ray study in the specialty field of spinal and skeletal disorders. I also completed studies in clinical orthopedics of the upper and lower extremities, and in correction and rehabilitation of scoliosis.

I've chosen to devote my life to the healing arts because I want to make a difference in people's lifestyles and health. I want to see sick people get well through the healing force which made the body. To help others as I've been helped, so they can experience optimal health, is one of my greatest desires. After seeing the benefits in myself, I want everyone I come in contact with to experience the same kind of health freedom I enjoy.

My office is fully equipped with a low patient dosage, high frequency x-ray machine, special tables to accommodate women during pregnancy, and physiotherapy machines to accelerate the healing process.
