Can chiropractic help seizures?

A seizure is a special type of change in consciousness. Seizures can occur when the brain discharges an abnormal amount of electrical energy and can be said to "short circuit." The "short" may affect any part of the brain. That's why seizures vary greatly in form, duration, and intensity.

Chiropractic has been a great blessing to people who suffer from seizures. Case reports of seizures greatly lessening in intensity and frequency or simply disappearing after care often appear in the chiropractic literature. And yet, the doctor of chiropractic does not treat epilepsy, but rather corrects spinal nerve stress, also know an vertebral subluxations. With reduced spinal nerve stress, the body functions better, and its natural self-healing ability reawakens. This ability is specially obvious in children who, having had primary generalized epilepsy and no underlying structural lesion, often "outgrow" their seizures during their adulthood.

At Doc Rock Stone Chiropractic, I have had the opportunity to see babies with life threatening seizures change after receiving chiropractic adjustments. It is great to see the difference the correction of spinal nerve stress can make in the lives of the child and the child's family.
